A God of Lesser Things

Is there anything in life that inspires a conviction in you that is so strong that you would die for it? You may need to look up the word "conviction" before you answer this question. There will be a few different definitions for it; decide which one fits best within the context of the question.

  1. The definition for conviction for me would have to be, the state of being convinced. I’m the kind of person that’s up for anything, and if I was convinced to do something it’s something that I shouldn’t be doing. But I wouldn’t die for anything like that. I might do something to get to whatever it is but not die over it. That’s the definition I see for myself.

  2. The definition that i think fits best in the context would be, the state of being convicted. For example like being found guilty for something. If i were ever convicted for doing something, I wouldn't die for it, no matter how bad the situation was. You learn from your mistakes.

  3. Conviction: An unshakable belief in something without need for proof or evidence, this is the definition that fits best in the context. I live by many beliefs in life, and one of them is that I believe in God. He does forgive our sins and love us, but he puts consequences in our actions, if we do something bad, he is going to forgive, but we have to learn from our mistakes, so he makes us "see" why the action we made was bad, by kind of punishing us. I have never seen GOD, and I don't have any proofs to ensure that he exists, so that is why is a conviction, but I don't need evidence to believe in Him, because even though I don't see Him, I can feel Him as a part of my life. I've had many difficult situations and when I get out of them, I thank God, I don't know if He listens to me or my prayers, but I don't care, I still pray. Some people think that this is stupid, because they don't believe in any of that, but we all have different opinions, they can talk all they want, but my conviction about God won't change, I'll believe in him till the last day. I'm not going to say that I'll die for this belief, because life is precious and I want live it to the fullest till my moment comes, I think for the only thing I'll die in life is to save someone I love VERY MUCH like my mother, and later on if I have kids, I'll die to save them (hope this won't be the case), but I would never die for something that inspires a conviction on me, God will decide when my moment is going to come.

  4. Conviction means the act of convincing or being convinced. Throughout my life I had people telling what I am and what I should do, whether it was in a negative or positive way. And as I got older, I realized that the negative people who tried to bring me down would be like "You're big, you should play football, stop being soft" or whatever it was, just wasn't right of them. Don't get me wrong I love football a lot, but I don't like playing it as much, and I sure wouldn't die for it. I'm not going to be someone I'm not. I'm going to always be me and believe in who I really am. Now there are positive people in my life who did convince me to do things that I thought would be stupid but I actually turned out to like. For example, my mom convinced me to do band because she knew I had a lot of beats in me. Now, I love drumming and music is my life! With band, what I thought would be a dumb and boring activity actually turned out to be one of the best experiences that happened to me. So with this said, just be yourself and don't let the negative people bring you down or tell you who you are. And the positive people in your life, I know at times it seems like they're picking on you or just getting on your nerves, they care about you and want the best for you. So just try to listen because you'll never know what'll happen.

  5. i know this it is way to late to count but i figure ill answer it anyway
the definition of conviction that i found was the best for me was the firm belief there is some things that i belive that i am willing to die for. Many people have firm beliefs but there are very few worth dieing for.there is only one believe is worth dieing for. and that is the belief in karma. i believe that god is watching down on us. and all my actions will pay off. This is one belief that i truely believe in and i pray is true because i need to in order to have my sucess come true. i believe that every thing happens for a reason thats why i never fear what lies on the road in front of me because of the things that me and my family have done. i believe that after all the good actions that i have done god will repay us by helping us survive and that is a belief that is worth dieing for other wise i woulnt do half of the things i do in my life.
